The purpose of this statement is to set out the principles governing Flood Testing Laboratories, Inc.’s use of information which Flood Testing Laboratories, Inc. (“FTL”) may obtain about you and the business entity to which you serve as an agent, independent contractor or employee thereof. FTL takes very seriously the privacy of its website users and the security of your personal information. It is an aim of FTL that you feel confident that your privacy is respected at all times and that due care is taken regarding your information. Accordingly, it is our policy that your information, if gathered, will never be sold or licensed to any third party.
TYPES OF INFORMATION WE COLLECT & HOW WE USE COLLECTED INFORMATION
If you elect to retrieve online reports and/or other client specific data regarding FTL’s services via FTL’s “Secure Area” for clients, you will be prompted to log in by entering a user name and a password. Your user name(s) and initial password(s) will be provided to you by FTL. You will have the opportunity to customize your password(s) upon successful verification of your user name and password. To verify your identity as an FTL client or other authorized entity, we collect the entered user name and password. Upon verification, you will be directed to the FTL Secure Area where you may retrieve such reports and/or other available client specific data regarding FTL’s services.
Like many websites, we may use a “cookie” to allow users to move quickly into the FTL Secure Area. Cookies are small text files that are used to save and retrieve information about your visit to our website. Cookies are transferred from our website to your computer via your web browser. A cookie generated by our website contains your entered user name. Upon repeat visits to our website, you may not need to re-enter your user name each time you attempt to log into the FTL Secure Area. The cookie does not gather any other information from your computer or any other information about you.
While using the FTL Secure Area, we may monitor your activity for quality assurance and other purposes. For instance, we may monitor the web pages you visit and/or the content and information you receive by date and time while logged into the FTL Secure Area. We may monitor this activity by opening a session for each successful FTL Secure Area user log in and associating with that session one or more cookies that contain information representing a unique identifier that identifies the currently logged in FTL client. The unique identifier is only valid for the user’s current session. Session data and state data may be stored on the FTL server(s) while one or more cookies are generally placed on the FTL client machine. The one or more cookies may be transmitted to the FTL server(s) while a FTL client navigates the FTL Secure Area so that we may, for example: (1) re-verify you as a valid, logged in FTL client; and (2) create a historical log of your activity. The cookie(s) does not gather any other information from your computer or any other information about you.
In most cases, a user can refuse a cookie and still navigate our website. If you are uncomfortable regarding the use of cookies on our website, please keep in mind that most browsers can be configured to warn you each time a cookie is being sent, allow you to opt-out of receiving a cookie or disable the cookie feature so that no cookies are stored on your computer. If you are not sure whether your browser has this capability, you should check with the software manufacturer or your Internet Service Provider.
Third parties might also create cookies when you access their sites through links posted on our sites. We do not have access to these cookies or any information that these cookies may contain. Please contact the third party website for more information on their policies regarding cookies.
FTL does not employ any web bugs or any other cookies to collect any other information or to track your Internet usage patterns.
FTL may additionally collect any and all information you submit to FTL in any form. Such information may include, but is not limited to, any e-mails you may send to FTL or any data you submit using a web field provided on our website.
