BUILDINGS
FTL specializes in the testing of high-rise buildings.
ICC Special inspectors are available for concrete and reinforcing; post tensioning, structural steel welding and bolting, fireproofing, soil, masonry, and post installed anchors
FTL has a large number of AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI) inspectors for UT, PT, and MT. Additionally, FTL offers firestop inspection and has worked with IDPH on numerous hospital projects
INFRASTRUCTURE
Our inspectors have been certified by IDOT to perform Quality Assurance or Quality Control for roadway and bridge projects.
We can perform pre-construction surveys for new roadways or resurfacing projects, and we perform asphalt and concrete plant and site inspections in accordance with IDOT/CDOT requirements.
LABORATORY TESTING
Our laboratory is accredited by AASHTO for R18 and are of the few labs in the Chicago Area to be accredited to ISO 17025, providing services nationally and internationally. Our laboratory employs only the most qualified personnel with years of experience in materials testing.
GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION
These include deep borings for caisson and pile supported projects as well as shallow foundations such as spread footings and mat foundations. Roadway investigations for replacement or rehabilitation include CBR tests and soil classification.
FTL is one of the few laboratories able to perform pressure meter testing for deep foundation options
ROOFING AND WATERPROOFING
FTL has experienced roofing and certified water proofing inspectors. We provide a range of consulting services that include observation and in-house capabilities to perform non-destructive moisture surveys, using infrared and radioisotopic (nuclear) methods.
CERTIFICATIONS
Our laboratory complies with ASTM E329 and ISO17025, including provisions for personnel. Our company is regularly inspected by many organizations including AMRL, CCRL, and Illinois DOT.
