Structural Steel
Given the site’s history, our team performed rigorous soil testing and evaluations. We ensured that the land—once home to the world's largest steel foundry—was properly prepared and stabilized to support sensitive, high-precision laboratory environments. Additionally, we verified all bolted and welded connections, ensuring the structural framework meets the exacting tolerances required for housing America’s first utility-scale quantum computer.
Concrete
Located on the historic 128-acre South Works site, the IQMP is a multibillion-dollar development destined to be the global center for quantum innovation. Flood Testing Labs provided the essential testing and inspection services required to bridge this site’s industrial past with its high-tech future. We managed the quality assurance for concrete placement, including specialized pads for exterior equipment and the structural foundations of the 80,000+ square-foot Phase 1 "Beta Building." Our testing ensures these structures can support the unique loads and stability requirements of massive cryogenic cooling plants

WANDA VISTA - "ST. REGIS"
This is a shining example of how our service has evolved to the high standard we currently hold ourselves to. It really highlighted our collective work ethic, and the adjustments we can make in order to accommodate a client. Nothing is too much for us to handle, or too small to push aside.

MASS CONCRETE
FTL was specifically hired for our expertise in testing high Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) concrete. We worked with engineers and ready-mix producers a year before construction began to experiment with mixes with MOE as high as 8 million psi, and providing the verification of the required 7 million psi MOE.

STRUCTURAL STEEL
STRUCTURAL STEEL
A terminal’s beauty is only as good as its bones. At T-5, we ensured the structural steel framework was built to the highest tolerances, providing the strength necessary to support expansive open-concept gate areas and soaring glass walls that welcome millions of international travelers.
TERMINAL 5 EXPANSION - O'HARE
As a cornerstone of the O’Hare 21 modernization program, FTL provided critical quality assurance and construction materials testing for the 350,000-square-foot expansion. Our team ensured the structural integrity of new gates, concourses, and specialized aircraft parking aprons designed to support the next generation of wide-body international aircraft. By leveraging our century of Chicago-based expertise, we helped deliver a world-class gateway that increases terminal capacity by 25% while meeting the city’s highest safety and sustainability standards.

RED PURPLE LINE MODERNIZATION
As part of the transformative RPM Phase One project, Flood Testing Labs provided comprehensive quality assurance and materials testing for the reconstruction of century-old track structures and the creation of the new Red-Purple Bypass. Our work focused on the critical components that ensure commuter safety and system longevity:
Deep Foundations & Drilled Shafts
FTL oversaw the installation and testing of drilled shafts, ensuring the stable transfer of massive structural loads for new elevated track segments and the Lawrence-to-Bryn Mawr station rebuilds
Concrete Reinforcing and Placement
We provided rigorous inspection of concrete reinforcing steel, verifying proper placement and tensioning for the post-tensioned segmental structures that now support 24/7 rail operations.
Soil Testing
Our team managed critical soil testing and embankment evaluations, providing the data necessary to replace aging 100-year-old embankments with modern, open-concept viaducts.

Structural Steel Integrity
FTL performed high-precision inspections of structural steel components, including shop quality control at fabrication sites and on-site verification of bolted and welded connections for the bypass and new station frames
